Guide To Support For Deaf Students

This interactive resource has been developed for students who are deaf, or have hearing loss, and the people who work with them.

Featuring contributions from students and professionals in Scottish Further Education colleges plus experts from organisations providing services to deaf people, the guide features information on a range of support options and technology.

While this is a student-centred resource, it is also linked to a staff guide compiled by the group ‘Furthering Access to College Education for Deaf Students (FACE)’.

BMJ Clinical Evidence

BMJ Clinical Evidence has been added to the our growing portfolio of electronic resources. This service has been provided by the good people at NHS Scotland and NHS Wales for all Athens accounts within Scotland and Wales.

If you don’t already know this publication:

Clinical Evidence is a database of the very best evidence for effective health care, put together by the BMJ – one of the world’s most trusted and authoritative medical sources.

Clinical Evidence summarises the current state of knowledge and uncertainty about the prevention and treatment of clinical conditions, based on thorough searches and appraisal of the literature. It is neither a textbook of medicine nor a set of guidelines. It describes the best available evidence from systematic reviews, RCTs and observational studies where appropriate, and if there is no good evidence it says so.

Best accessed through MyAthens.
